Megaera Regan is a retired physical education teacher from the Port Washington School District in Long Island, New York. Megaera is the 2020 SHAPE America PE Elementary Teacher of the Year and 2018 New York State AHPERD (NYSAHPERD) Elementary PE Teacher of the Year.

Prior to the pandemic, Megaera helped start a before and after-school program at her elementary school. When the pandemic hit, as a physical education teacher, Megaera was on the front lines of the changing school climate. She was in meetings all day, nearly every day, working with her district to figure out how they were going to continue learning through an online-only medium.

A physical education teacher for 31 years, Megaera knows the ins and outs of teaching in the classroom. Her insights into best practices, tips for new teachers, and how to make connections at the local and national levels provide a great framework for educators of all experience levels to learn from.
