“In like a lion, out like a lamb,” goes the old saying about spring. The month of March is that lion: a generally cold and blustery month that we here in New York still for some reason associate with spring. Because of the weather, kids tend to have a lot more indoor recess in this month than even January, since March is the month that snow tends to turn into sleet and slush and freezing rain.
So, with an indoor theme in mind, what better way to march into March than with our March Ants Super Stickers® sticker set?
March Ants are from Fit and Fun Playscapes’ line of Super Stickers®, sticker versions of our popular outdoor stencils and games that can be stuck onto classroom walls, floors, and hallways. Super Stickers® like March Ants are the perfect alternative for outdoor play, allowing kids to get their energy out in the hallways for 30 minutes rather than being cooped up inside all day.
March Ants come in a variety of bright, fun colors and are available in separate sets, such as March Ants Super Stickers® sticker set, the Nature Activity Circuit Reusable Stencil Package, or the Nature Sensory Pathway Super Stickers® stickers set. The mini-set, good for classroom floors or as part of a wall decoration, comes with 9 march ants, while the full set comes with a whole 33 pieces. The full set is perfect for indoor recess in the hallway, since they can be stuck to the floor and arranged in a variety of patterns.
March Ants needn’t just be used to march, either. Why not get creative and use the March Ants set as a twister board? Arranged in rows of 5 x 6 (with three extra!), have your kids twist and turn to their heart’s delight. Or, use them as a decorative piece for “Follow-the-Leader” while walking from the classroom to the gym, cafeteria, library, music room, etc. Arrange the March Ants in a long, twisting line, starting from the classroom door and running along the hallway wall. A few of these sets can really brighten up and hallway and bring some color to a grey outdoor day.
How’s the month of March in your neck of the woods? Is it pleasant and mild, like Florida, or is it rough and rowdy like New York? Let us know!
